iron route
Ya llevaba tiempo con la mente put into this challenge. And with the company Efrem (a great companion Rubi) put as the starting date on Friday 18 for the great journey, cycling from the pre-Pyrenees (Ripoll) to maresme (Sant Cebrià of Vallalta) through the Costa Brava ( Sant Feliu de Guixols). Two stages of 100kms each.
resting on the train to Ripoll
Stage 1 Ripoll-Girona: got off the station Ripoll and sprightly rhythm biked the entire route of the railway to the town of Sant Joan de les Abbesses. Once there big rally by the Coll de Santigosa then down at a frenetic pace to Olot. There I began the mountain railway with some mud due to heavy rains 3 days ago leaves us pretty stucco frames. The decorations were accompanying us magnificent landscapes, where once cutting-way between the train passed and the favorable slope of km s flew. By mid afternoon we arrived to Girona for the night in a shelter (good, nice and cheap) in the heart of Old Town. Keep the bike and after a good shower we rehabilitative pedestrian tourist visiting the city's cathedral, bridges, houses of colors and giving us a good feast on pizza base with many flavors. Once back at the lodge and we soon tired to sleep as it should be noted.

Stage 2 Girona -Sant Cebrià of Vallalta: After a hearty breakfast at the hostel we resumed the journey from the initial point of carrilet II. And as you said your name VIA VERDE ... the entire landscape was GREEN! I want you green green! the road runs through vast meadows with green fluorescent fascinating. We passed the towns of Quart, Llambilles, Cassa de la Selva, Llagostera, Font Picant ... and each time the scenery is changing and is beginning to see an endless number of pines and oaks and the smell of the sea and it would be done to see to ... finally ... peeps! Sant Feliu de Guixols! And in a park in this lovely seaside resort we closed the main route from start to finish. Via 140km of landscapes of all kinds. We
refreshments on the beach and start the 2 nd part of the adventure. Leaving tracks on the asphalt. And of 1 dish: Curves to Tossa de Mar! 23km up and down with stunning views of coves. It seems to go flying over the sea. When we finally arrived at Tossa and stopped to regain strength. And the 2 nd national dish up sant Cebrià of Vallalta. We arrived just in strength but very dissappointed by the challenge done. The cuantaquilometros tells us we have traveled 200km within 12 hours of actual pedaling. And now ... to rest and think of another fling.
