Martha's Pub

For over 10 years when I decided to take a break with my huge Victorian house, I decided to do something smaller like a scene or a shop. I found a kit of Barbara Graham and built a typical English pub which I liked so much, those that are timeless, and maintaining the same look today than in the nineteenth century.

Pubs in Britain is an important meeting point and not just a place to eat and drink. They are places for relaxing and chatting, and also to protect from the weather. Its decoration is often save the taste and simplicity of English culture. Carved wooden furniture, ceilings refilled and lustrous carpets that make the stay pleasant and invite conversation. To recreate that intimate atmosphere of yesterday, I found a Victorian paper, carpet and added dark wood paneling to the wall and baseboards and cornices also dark wood.

On its walls hang sheets of golf. Seems to be a hangout for fans of this sport, which lies near the entrance to a bag with their sticks. (Gomez Panizo in Feria de Madrid). Complete the decoration of the room, a rack-style Thonet (Draper), a mirror that I made with lipstick and moldings, a target and umbrella (which I found on Puck.).

Although a pub serves various drinks, prestige is measured by the selection and quality of the beers you can offer. The display case is filled with bottles of liquor and other beverages and the bar could not miss the faucet and beer glasses and utensils to serve food and drinks.

There are few tables where customers sit down to talk quietly while sipping a gin and tonic or smoke. Or perhaps take a refreshing tea after a tiring shopping (the shopping bag is a little shop of models that exist in Covent Garden). Or just take a break for lunch.

And most important of all establishment, the waiter who served, that is authentically English, she came from London; "Singing Tree" a charming miniatures shop has closed.
